What is a City Host?

City Hosts are capable, committed, inspirational volunteers building on our proud history of volunteering since 2012 and continuing the volunteer legacy on from the UK City of Culture 2021.

What is the role of a City Host Volunteer?

Roles that are mostly undertaken involve customer service, meet & greet, registration and marshalling.

Examples include:

  • Providing a friendly and warm welcome for all
  • Wayfinding and guiding and providing assistance
  • Promoting and providing information
  • Supporting displays, artwork, installations.
  • Lining trails and performances.
  • Hosting of performers and guests.

What could I become involved in?

City Host volunteers have supported over 260 events such as Godiva Festival, Sports Fest, Daniel Lismore exhibition, Reel Store Frida Kahlo, Radio 1 Weekend, Motofest and many more…

Requirements:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Complete on-line application form
  • Must reside/living in the UK at the time of applying to become a Volunteer.
